The who, what & why behind travelR
Hi, I'm Rosie and I'm obsessed with travel. I love going to new places, getting to know new countries and cultures and taking in the amazing sights each location has to offer. I've ticked off a good few countries and cities on my ever-expanding bucket list but I'm really only getting started!
There's something so amazing about getting out of your comfort zone and hometown and learning about all the other towns, cities and countries across the globe – what they have to offer, the people who live there, what life is like there and how the place makes you feel.
I can't pinpoint exactly when I fell in love with travelling as I was lucky enough to be taken on holiday most years with my family and I always enjoyed this. Being from the UK (Scotland to be exact) the Spanish Isles were a favourite for us, and I ended up falling in love Spain, it’s culture, food and language. From there, I decided to study languages (Spanish and Italian) at university, during which I spent a year living in Sevilla, Spain and many weekends visiting different cities and towns across Spain and Portugal.

Throughout and just after my year abroad in 2016 was probably when I REALLY got into travelling. I don’t mean travelling in the traditional sense – backpacking for weeks and months on end to loads of different countries in one trip – not that I have anything against this at all, just mine and my partner’s lifestyle doesn’t allow for this. However, we do use any opportunity we can to get out and see the world, usually visiting a new country each time.
I’ve been to Mexico, Jamaica, Thailand, Indonesia, Cyprus, Albania and Iceland, just to name a few, and I’ll share all my experiences in each country I’ve been to in the blogs on this site. I don’t claim to be an expert, but travelling is something I am passionate about and I feel like I’ve been to enough places to share some opinions, advice and hopefully inspire others to get out and see this incredible world we live in!
So, if you want to hear about travel stories from all over the world, need travel advice or are looking for some travel inspiration for your next trip then stick around, this is your kind of place.
